Reurrection: its proofs and pictures

In 1961 Walt Disney died. The great imagineer was no more. But with the help and art of cryonics ( deep freeze by liquid nitrogen) Walt's body is still preserved in Arizona.

The hope is that someone, somewhere, sometime will produce the necessary spark to bring to life again the Father of Mickey.
He can then live forever in Disneyland.

You can pursue such expensive flights of the imagination if you have the money. For the rest of us there is the proof of an empty tomb in Jerusalem and the sure promise of it's temporary Resident that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.

By the way our mansion will be in Heaven not Disneyland.

Resurrection. Pictures and proofs

  1.
A Trader plying the south sea islands arrived at a remote atoll.

He was greeted at the dock by a group of imposing natives. When he tried to barter whiskey among them he was told that the missionaries had told them that God was not pleased when they got drunk.

The trader scornfully asked whether they really believed that fairy tale about Jesus Christ. He immediately received his answer.

The group took him to their village and showed him the tribal cooking pot. "Mister" they said, "If Lord Jesus Him not real, we cook you in pot."

The strongest evidence for the resurrection of Jesus, is the millions of lives that He has changed.

I hope that yours is one of them.

Resurrection: Proofs and pictures

When Pauline and I were in Jerusalem we visited the Garden Tomb.

We entered, as Peter had done two thousand years ago, and found no hint of gloom. In fact a brilliant sunbeam filled the tiny cave as we stood there.

The whole tomb was filled with light.

Never think that the stone was rolled away to let Christ OUT on resurrection morning. No, the stone was removed to let us IN, and to see that the grave was empty and that Jesus has freed mankind forever from the thrall of death.

From Golgotha to the Garden Tomb.

The best three days work ever accomplished and it was done on our behalf.

Hallelujah!

Resurrection: it's proofs and pictures

Joseph of Arimathea.

This man went to Pontius Pilate and asked for Christ's body to bury in his own tomb.

Pilate, the story goes, was astonished that Joseph was so generous to give his family vault to Christ.

"I'm not giving it to Him" came the reply "It's on loan for the weekend!"

 Enjoy your day.

Easter: The pictures and proofs of the Resurrection

Today, Jonah and the Great fish.

Jesus said that the fish, representing death and Jonah representing Himself, was the only sign that He would give of His resurrection.

Let me assure you that nobody who has been trapped in the belly of the fish and has been delivered from their darkness and despair, ever makes jokes about Jonah. If  a person is being digested by fish juice it is not a multiple choice. It is Jesus or nothing.

Easter is the story of the darkness of the cross, the depths of hell and the glorious sunshine of deliverance all within the space of three days.

No wonder Christians have something to celebrate next week.
