Its a bad,bad world.

This society is filled with predators of every sort: many assume the most innocuous disguises.

Don't be fooled by the feathers and the cute little beaks.

These people are real bad!

MOTHERS PRAY FOR AND PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN!

1611 - 2011. 400 years of The King James Bible.

I heard on the radio the other day of a professor of sociology who did an exercise in demographics with his first year students.

He asked them to find out why there were more "Jones" than "Smiths"  in the Vancouver Island telephone directory, when the national average in Canada was the other way round.

Two weeks later none of the students could account for the statistics, though they gave many plausible arguments.

The professor than told them that he had misinformed them. There were far more "Smiths" than "Jones" in the directory, but none of the students had checked for themselves.
 Hence the lesson:

"Don't take my word for it."

For the last year I have been putting out daily thoughts on BWI, often with references in the Bible to support them.

But don't take my word for it, lest you be misled in these matters.

Check the directory for yourselves.

Inspiration before instruction

Yesterday I was jogging round the local track. It's a challenge to tie up my runners, drive down there and put in my forty minutes. However, along with the obvious benefits, I meet a lot of interesting people.

Last night it was a group of vibrant teenagers. They hailed me from the middle of the field as I was chugging past.

I pulled over and took ten minutes to harangue them and then forged on, but not before I was given a spontaneous ovation for my off-the-cuff lesson.

What had I said that gained their attention?

1) That all educators should INSPIRE as well as instruct.

2)That at 72 I had already run across Canada and was on my way back, and that my son was about to finish his own cross continent run.

3) That they should each rise to the challenge of being all that they could be.

4)That with God's help they should each use their energy and talents to change their world for good.

The last line  belonged to them.

" GO FOR IT. WE FEEL INSPIRED! "

Words that helped me do an extra mile with a smile on my face.

The last sanctuary invaded

This week news came forth that a determined lobby has called for the marriage of Ernie and Bert, our two adorable Muppet's from Sesame Street.

The request was advanced under the banner of "TOLERANCE"  and the need for children to be exposed to homosexuality at the earliest possible age.

That word  "TOLERANCE' has long been a Trojan Horse to infiltrate other values into our decaying culture: out of the polished belly of broadmindedness have poured forth every deviant and damnable thing to defile purity, weaken faith and further subvert the nuclear family.

Jim Henson, the father of the Muppetry, would turn in his grave if he knew what snakes are seeking to wriggle into the Muppet House.

For all such hellish things we have the required receptacle; Oscar's trash can.
