On Vacation

I'm on a once in a life-time trip to the U.K.
The main purpose is to attend the class of 1955 high school reunion in Nelson, Lancashire.
I'll be traveling and also doing a little preaching.
Maybe, if I get inspired, I'll cook up a breakfast and send it over as "Fast-food".
Meantime it's:

The way we were.

A few years ago one of my church members excitedly announced that he was now a Lord of the realm.

I hadn't seen him featured in the New Year Honor's list, so I enquired as to which 'realm' he was instated.

"Why" he replied, "The realm of the land of Hutt." and my title only cost $70:00.

Look it up for yourselves. The Kingdom of Hutt in Western Australia will sell you any title you wish starting at a modest $50:00 for a baronetcy and going up to $1,500:00 for a knight of the Garter.
King Leonard below is the reigning monarch, and under his benevolent rule you may do pretty much anything you like providing the price is right.

Next week I'll be visiting my native land, England, where the monarchy truly means something.
The dignity and power of her office only reflects the One who is even greater Who will shortly be setting up His rule and reign on Earth.

Want a place in His Kingdom?

The way we were.

There have been quite a few positive comments on "The way we were" theme.
Jeff Baker from Australia became nostalgic about the old family living room where there was a lot of talk and fun.
Here is a photo to help you reminisce, Jeff.

Jeff then suggested that our modern entertainment centre had its special attributes.

Maybe Jeff, but while I can remember singing "Way down upon the Suannee River" with my family in England in 1950, I can't recall one special evening watching T.V. after the boop-tube arrived in 1958.

Whether debating, arguing, laughing, singing, praying, crying, chatting or playing there is just no sound on earth like family life.
