Will it be the Year of our Lord or the Year of the Dragon?

2012 is the Chinese Year of the Dragon. That's interesting since the Dragon is a wholly imaginary creature but has inspired all sorts of phobias in people over the centuries.

Personally I prefer to live in Anno Domine, the Year of our Lord.

I have done so every year since 1939 A.D.

That year, and for four succeeding years, Hitler's Luftwaffe tried to change our dates to the Years of the Dragon as he blitzed our city with thousands of bombs.

My mother, even in the grimmest days of the conflict, refused to give way to fear or despair.

She made a great side-kick to Winston Churchill.

Through out the Second World War it was always "The Year of Our Lord." and her faith triumphed in the end.

Make sure that your new year is 2012 AD. There are 365 "Fear Not's"  in the Bible. Choose one for each new day and I pray that this year will be your best yet.
