Evolution: The hand.

My wife Pauline did her college thesis on "HANDS".
It was a great piece of work which, unfortunately, got lost when we left England and came to Canada.
I have been fascinated with hands ever since.
Think about your own hands. Your uniqueness is written into your finger prints. Nobody in the whole world can match yours. If you stretch your little finger back you cannot make a fist. Do the same with your index finger and you can. This is because the power muscles of the arm control the baby finger and the ring finger. The other three ( including the thumb) are the manipulators of the hand. Everything you see built around you was produced by the ability of the human thumb to work in conjunction with the other four fingers. This is the single biggest distinction between men and monkeys. The monkey's thumb is not opposed to its fingers because it sticks out of the side of its wrist and therefore cannot manipulate with its other digits.
O the wonder of the human hand!
And O the wonder of the Hand of God to create, protect, direct, preserve, up-hold, control and guide His world and YOU in it.
Juliana, a saint of the middle ages, held a hazel nut in the palm of her hand and remarked "There, in essence, is the sum total of all things in the palm of our Heavenly Father."

Think about that and you will see that you don't have anything to worry about because in the middle of the palm there is a nail print.

Explosion: From Big Bang to Big Ben

As we all know explosions always dissipate and fragment the initial chemicals that formed their violent origin.
What has been a constant source of wonderment to me is that the cosmologists that posed the theory of the Big Bang have somehow contrived to reassemble all the original elements of the 'bang' , and form them into the Earth we know today ALL WITHOUT ANY OUTSIDE HELP.
How did they manage  to accomplish this conjuring trick?
Quite simple. They added BILLIONS of years to their formula and blithely stated that at certain magic moments 'this or that' took place. In other words they wrote their own fairy story to challenge the Genesis account of Creation.
This brings me to Big Ben.
Big Ben, the product of Victorian engineering, stands as a majestic and somber icon to the passage of time across the British Empire.
Since the massive clock was placed in the great central tower a team of skilled over-seers have sedulously oiled its works, adjusted it's springs and cogs and kept it ticking for a hundred and fifty years.
How is it that we readily agree that all this is so, yet strenuously deny that the solar system was engineered by God and is overseen by Him every day: a work of art infinitely more complex than Big Ben?
Would someone out there please answer that question?
