Trump's New Conference. What you didn't hear.

The news that most people DIDN'T hear after President Elect Trump's news conference yesterday was, for me, more intruiging than the question and answer time.
For an hour before the press conference itself, patriotic music was played through the great ball room. Then, when all reporters were assembled, the Battle Hymn of the Republic was broadcast at full volume.
It was a spectacle to behold. A hundred reporters of every hue and colour having to listen to this grand old christian hymn, which was immediately followed by the national anthem.
On every side of this bevy of reporters (representatives of all the syndicated and corporate news organizations) were stood ranks of Trump's staff and cabinet who outnumbered the media two to one.
When question time came, Trump allowed questions from conservative news reporters (who have been largely ignored for eight years under Obama). There was no attempt to placate those who for years had biased and falsified news in favour of the liberal left.
Finally, when asked when the new signings of executive orders would begin, Trump said: "Not on inauguration day and not the day after because THAT WILL BE A DAY FOR CHURCH!"
Ladies and gentlemen a new day has truly dawned.
Let's make the most of it.

The Great March of the Sisterhood.

Back in 1936 my grandpa Curtis supported the great Jarrow Hunger March. It is worth researching. Hundreds of unemployed miners and shipyard workers marched in protest against working conditions in the mines and factories of the North of England.
They left Jarrow, in Northumberland, on October 5th and arrived at the Houses of Parliament three weeks later to present their petition.
They were jobless, penniless and, after three hundred miles on the road, some were shoeless. They had good reason to register their anger against a system that had impoverished them and their families.
Fast forward to 2017. The Great Sister March organized by a few dozen disaffected starlets from Hollywood (all millionaires) who want the world to know of their outraged sensibilities and their violated woman-hood because of the election of Donald Trump.
Not that any of the afore-mentioned has had a finger laid upon them by Trump and his team. Not at all. But that is not the point.
This splendid spectacle of the cosseted, the beautiful, the spoiled, the adored and the privileged are just plain mad that Hilary Clinton didn't make it to the White House and, by golly, they are going to let everybody know. This grand parade will be a little short of three hundred miles. Actually it will be half the length of Pennsylvania Avenue ( about the distance that their spiked heels and tight skirts will allow). Nor will there be any sleeping out in the open air for the cause.
After their speeches and autograph signings it will off to spend the night in a five star hotel and then back to Tinsel Land with a story of their utmost sacrifice to pass on to their progeny.
Such is the world that we live in 80 years after Jarrow.

2016 A BAD YEAR FOR THE CELEBRITIES

During twelve months past the Grim Reaper made a harvest in Celeb Land. The list of singers and actors who fell to his scythe was truly astonishing. Allow me to mention JUST A FEW!
Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds (mother/daughter) Zsa Zsa Gabor and Alan Rickman were among the actors.
George Mitchell, Prince, David Bowie, Merle Haggard. Leonard Cohen, Craig Stickland, Andrew Dorff, Phiff Dawg and Shannon Jones were only part of the tally whose voices shall be heard no more  (excepting posthumously through their albums).
What struck me was the early age that many of these stars left their galaxy and also THE MANNER of their departure.
Some decided that, despite their regal life style, it was all too much and committed suicide. Others left under undisclosed circumstances which still remain cloaked in mystery. Still more suffered heart attacks, organ failure and strokes reflecting a life lived in the FAST LANE.
None escaped the inexorable blade of the Reaper, though several required that their bodies be frozen and kept stored until some one comes up with the secret of eternal life.
Which brings me to my point, a point that I have been making for the last fifty five years in various places and parts of the earth.
Someone HAS come up with the great secret of everlasting life and it is an open one.
Faced with the death of his friend Lazarus (John Chapter 11) Jesus said to Martha " I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. HE THAT LIVES AND BELIEVES ON ME SHALL NEVER DIE."
His next words were "LAZARUS COME FORTH"
For the rest of the story you will have to read the Bible for yourselves.
