Back from Blighty

Well, go away for a month and everything falls apart.

I had scarcely returned from Europe when I had news that my good neighbour had suffered a massive aneurysm.

Before I left for the hospital to pray for her there was another call to say that Milt, a long time friend and colleague, had undergone emergency surgery for a quadruple by pass.

Surely that was enough for one day?

But when I finally got home there was an email to tell me that John, a close friend of thirty years, was rushed from his home in an ambulance with symptoms of a stroke.

Back to hospital again.

The Bible says

"If there be any sick  let the elders of the church anoint them with oil and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick."

As of this moment my oil bottle is getting low, my faith is still high and all of the patients are expected to make a full recovery.

This morning, my neighbour Jim said: "That's it for you! No more vacations for the next ten years."

Jubilate.
