A beauty pageant with a difference

Hail to the organizers and competitors of the 2012 Miss Taiwan contest.

The word has been spoken that any among this bevy of beauties who engages in promiscuous conduct will face disqualification

There will be no adultery, sexual philandering or any behaviour that will tarnish the good name of their country and the pageant itself.

Someone seems to have finally understood that womanly beauty is more than curves, alluring smiles and catwalk performance; it actually includes the qualities of a pure-heart, personal dignity and sound character which, in themselves, are of immeasurable worth.

Perhaps , when the competition is over, they can do a tour of the West which cries out for the re-discovery of these virtues.

A thought for the day.

joining hands in the ministry

                                              Good Morning.

Many of you have been following Breakfast With Ian for the past eighteen months.
During that time this daily post has expanded and is daily served from our small kitchen here in Canada to about thirty countries.

I have some thoughts that might increase your involvement with our publication.

1) It may be that there are events taking place in your country that the rest of us need to hear about.
That being the case why don't you drop a line to ipwilson@rogers.com and give us a quick update. We will research as best we can and then publish what you have to say in BWI format.

2) If you wish to represent BWI in your nation, you can forward the daily post through Face book or on your own email list. This may produce opportunities to engage in conversation on meaningful issues and current events with your friends.

3) You may wish to publish a post or a series of posts yourself.
We will be glad to edit them if you send them to our email address.

Whichever, it would always be good to hear from you and read your comments.

Jubilate.

Sexless in Sweden

If you were left stupefied by the last post on Sweden going cashless, consider this.
The core mission of Sweden's National Curriculum for Pre-Schools is to "break down existing gender roles"

There will be a drive to "imprint" children from their early years with  a "New gender awareness"

No longer will pronouns like "Him" and "Her" be used. Instead the preferred word " friends " will be encouraged.

Fairy stories such as "Cinderella" and "Snowhite " are banned since they only cement existing stereotypes and, as you can see from the latest toy firm ads, "Gender-blender" toys are the in thing.

That's not all. This business of calling children by male and female names should be scrapped. Let the girls be called "Jack" and the boys become "Jills" in this brave-new-socially-engineered world.

Over a thousand years ago the mighty Vikings with names like Thor, Hal, Hans and Guthrum set forth from Sweden's shores to discover new lands.
How does that stack up against these present day warriors going forth pushing their prams to conquer the last frontiers?

Stay tuned. It won't be long before all this transvestite rubbish will be appearing in our own school curriculums and Cinderella will be at the ball wearing clogs.

Breivik

It promises to be a long and agonizing trial in Oslo as Anders Breivik gives testimony as to why he killed 72 people in last year's shooting spree.

The number of lawyers seem to be equally matched by the small army of grief counsellors and psychiatrists present in court. This latter phalanx is split as to whether Breivik is insane.

Through all the chatter, I have yet to hear that Breivik's rampage could have been inspired by the devil.

Breivik is a monster, a psych-path, a wacko, a loonie, a schizoid .... Sure, he's all of these and more but what drove him on his rampage?

The closest question as to the truth is:

"What on earth possessed him to do such things?"

For this question the Bible has an immediate answer:

 "Satan of course"

Why is it that millions flock to see horror movies where demons are star players but when horror occurs in real life their work is  discounted?

Until  fiends are recognized as the prime movers of such evil, Breivik will remain a mystery.
