Syria. Who are the bad guys?

News yesterday that America has abandoned its programme to train the 'moderate' opposition to fight Bashar Assad. They have so far spent THREE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS on the project and have exactly eighty soldiers ready for battle. This works out to about $3,500,000:00 per trainee.
Now the strategy is to seriously arm the rebels with heavy artillery. In other words to help them blow bigger holes in more buildings and thus exacerbate the refugee crisis.
But just who are the 'good' guys in this internecine brawl going on in Syria?  El Nusra, Al Quaeda, ISIS, Holy Jihad and, of course,
the Assad loyalists. It is agreed they are all bad. But we have yet to locate the good guys.
Meantime the Kurds are at war with Turkey, Russia is backing Assad, Saudi Arabia is supporting anybody who will fight Iran and shortly America could be involved in a shooting war with Russia.

It's the Middle East folks. The place where things have been going up in smoke for centuries.
A few miles from Damascus, the capital city of Syria, a man called Paul had a personal encounter with the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.
He lived to write half the New Testament of the Bible. In his letter to the Thessalonians he foretold exactly the events that we are reading about today. He said, quite emphatically, that they would prelude the end of our present civilization with the return of the Son of God to rule on Earth.
Personally, even as I read my own post, I believe that He is the only One who can sort out the mess. If you know of any one else please let me know.
Jubilate.
