Top Three Resolutions for 2016

So the ball has dropped in Times Square and we are OFF; the race has begun into the great unknown of 2016.
The majority of us are now fortified to run that race with resolutions: prayed, written, spoken, unspoken, shared, engraved in brass, tattooed on our biceps. Resolutions that we hope will help us onward to become the people that we know we ought to be.
The top three of this "vowing" season of 2016?
1) To get out of debt.
2) To lose weight.
3) To spend more time with family and friends.
All are laudable aims, but, truth be known, we vowed to do all of these a year ago on the eve of 2015, and FAILED.
What we had not taken into account was the strategy of the dark side that, through the scheming of the financial institutions, would take us FURTHER into debt.
Through the propaganda of the food industry, making their products irresistible, we would put on MORE weight and through the frenzy and demands of modern life, we would spend LESS time with our children and loved ones.
Listen to what the Bible says. It's wisdom still speaks to us through the passing centuries.
"Be not ignorant of the Devil's devices."
If the Devil has devices to keep us enslaved, encumbered, enmeshed and ever hoping but never arriving, then WAKE UP to his strategies. Engage the assistance of a friend, read the Word of God for yourself, pray with earnestness, knowing your spirit is willing but your flesh is week and GO TO A CHURCH before you are taken there in a hearse.
And by the grace of God we will make it victorious to December 31st without having to repeat these resolutions for 2017.
Jubilate.
