1611 - 2011. 400 years of The King James Bible.

I heard on the radio the other day of a professor of sociology who did an exercise in demographics with his first year students.

He asked them to find out why there were more "Jones" than "Smiths"  in the Vancouver Island telephone directory, when the national average in Canada was the other way round.

Two weeks later none of the students could account for the statistics, though they gave many plausible arguments.

The professor than told them that he had misinformed them. There were far more "Smiths" than "Jones" in the directory, but none of the students had checked for themselves.
 Hence the lesson:

"Don't take my word for it."

For the last year I have been putting out daily thoughts on BWI, often with references in the Bible to support them.

But don't take my word for it, lest you be misled in these matters.

Check the directory for yourselves.
