Last week, the TV station 'CURRENT' was sold to the Arab network Al Jazeera for $500,000,000.
'CURRENT' TV, a champion in the battle against climate change, was jointly owned by Al Gore; a suitable fit since Gore has forever been telling us to change our light bulbs for the sake of sustainability.
Having chastised us 'fossil energy addicts' in his book "An Inconvenient Truth" Gore has now netted a cool hundred million dollars in selling his green network to a fossil fuel consortium from Qatar.
Not only that, but Al Jazeera has been one of the most vocal critics of U.S. policy in the Middle East.
Thus in one man and one move we have the embodiment of three reprehensible vices: greed, hypocrisy and cynicism.
Tipper, Gore's ex wife, would no doubt add two more "ingratitude and unfaithfulness" since it was Al who ditched her after his unsuccessful run for the White house.
Ah! Does this not make you long for the days when "Character was King" among the leaders of men?
