Those responsible for that most terrible of upsets in the history of British politics were the UNEDUCATED ONES.
Just think about that. The latest figures from the department of statistics in London said comparatively few people with degrees or higher education voted to leave the E.U. while those with menial jobs and without much of an education, voted overwhelmingly for BREXIT.
This is pretty much the same assessment of the High Brows who attributed Trump's recent stunning victory in the U.S. election to the "Fly Over" people, the majority of which were working class and uneducated.
Whether in America or in Britain, the inference is clear (forgive my satire!). Such people are truly a blight upon our democratic values because they are not really qualified to judge between the important and trivial issues of life. Therefore, until they are further enlightened, the uneducated and unwashed should not be allowed to vote.
Perhaps an oligarchy is the way to go? The Romans tried that two thousand years ago and found, after a couple of bloody revolutions, that maybe the people DID know a thing or two.
Let us hope that history does not have to repeat itself. Somehow, with the help of God, the muddle that is called democracy will sort itself out.
