This week. Moral ambivalence

Focus on the Family recorded an illustration of moral ambivalence on a recent American Airlines flight.

With passengers seated for take off, the hostess announced with joy that that very morning the Captain's fiancee had given birth to twins and called for a round of applause.

This was given with great enthusiasm accompanied by loud whistles!

Then why the problem? Well, for the very reason that this vast and worthy organization calls itself "Focus on the Family".

The writer points out that the celebration of seeing two new Americans being born into the world trumped the fact that they were born out of wedlock.

A mere detail you may say.

Not according to Dr Dobson's people, who provide the proof that illegitimacy opens the door to a host of social disorders from violence, depression, suicide and general under achievement among children and is perpetuated to future generations.
